After our weather God had blessed us with enough snow to shut down many
Autobahns and ski-resorts, we decided to postpone this trip for one week.
So, the three of us (the organizer, one member, and one guest) had picked
the most wonderful sunny day and reached the slopes by mid-day. Snow was
plenty, however, the news media had exaggerated - Conditions were perfect!
After all ski lifts had closed, we explored the 'après-ski' scene
of Sölden that has a reputation for the best 'Ramba-Zamba' parties.
So, after dinner back in the Hotel Lägnenfeld we drove back to the
local nightlife. Again a lot of snow was falling but Jörg's Town
Car handled the 6km of snow-packed roads to Sölden with ease.
Unfortunately snow was still falling with no end in sight Sunday morning.
We decided to head back home and check out some ski resorts on our way.
As we approached the Arlberg Mountains the weather cleared and we chose
the road that would lead us to Arlberg's highest resort, St. Christoph.
Again we had to scrap our plans to ski here; Enormous masses of snow
up to 4m walls on the side of the road plus an increasing dense fog made
us stay inside and original alpine lodge for an extended lunch.
